Staten Island, NY (October 19, 2022) – A 13-year-old, a 19-year-old, and a two-year-old, all females, were hospitalized after being attacked by a pack of pit bulls in the New Brighton section of Staten Island. The incident was reported on Tuesday afternoon, October 18th.

According to reports, a 13-year-old girl was walking home from school when a group of eight pit bulls leaped from the window of a home located at 250 York Avenue. The dogs attacked the girl as well as two others who were in the area at the time.

Witnesses say the 19-year-old woman involved was mauled by the animals before emergency responders arrived at the scene. Both teens and a two-year-old girl were transported to Richmond University Medical Center. Their injuries have been reported as non-life-threatening.

A total of six dogs and four puppies were taken to local Animal Care Centers. Two people were taken into custody. Charges are currently pending.
