Stonington, ME (September 18, 2023) – A motorcyclist lost his life on Burnt Cove Road on Sunday after avoiding an obstructed lane.
Lionel J. Nault, 30, of Deer Isle, tragically died at the scene, says the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
Ivonne Guerrero, 31, from Hamilton, Ohio, had halted her vehicle southbound for a power line inspection related to storm damage.
As Nault headed south, he crested a hill, spotted the stopped vehicle, and swerved to avoid it.
This sudden move made him lose control.
Despite wearing a helmet, Nault was thrown off his bike and succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing, with Deputy Justin Burnett leading.
