Summit Twp, MN (February 9, 2024) – A rear-end collision occurred on Thursday, February 8, involving two vehicles on US Hwy 71 near Beltrami CR 41. Matthew Ryan Delia, 21, from Littlefork, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries when his 2006 Buick LaCrosse struck a 2016 Ford Edge from behind.
The Ford was driven by Monica Jean Scheldrup, 42, of Blackduck, MN, who, along with passenger Donna Louise Scheldrup, 77, also from Blackduck, MN, remained unharmed. Delia was wearing his seatbelt, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
He was transported to Sanford Bemidji Hospital for treatment. The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office and Blackduck Ambulance responded to the scene. Authorities are actively investigating the incident.
