Sumter, SC – (June 9, 2026) – A pedestrian died following a crash Sunday night on Prosser Avenue in Sumter.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:30 p.m. on June 7. Officials said a 2017 Ford Fusion was traveling south on Prosser Avenue when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment but later died from injuries suffered in the crash. Additional details about the victim and the driver have not been released. The incident remains under review by authorities. We extend our sincere condolences to the victim’s loved ones.
