Syosset, NY (January 7, 2023) – A woman has lost her life and others were injured in a car accident that happened on the night of December 31. The wreck was reported on the Long Island Expressway in Syosset, Nassau County, according to police. 

Responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident at around 2:30 a.m. just west of Exit 43 on the Long Island Expressway. A 53-year-old female driving a 2018 Jeep Renegade was involved in a collision with a commercial truck driven by a 28-year-old male, reports read. 

Authorities stated the woman was immediately transported to the hospital where she later died. A 24-year-old passenger in her vehicle at the time received treatment for minor injuries. The truck driver also sustained minimal injuries in the crash. 

Delays in traffic were observed in the area for some time after the incident occurred. Authorities are still investigating the details of the accident.
