Tampa, FL – Pedestrian Critically Struck on Veterans Expressway Leaving him Dead

Tampa, FL (July 27, 2023)- At 9:43 p.m. on July 24, 2023, a report came in about a person in dark clothing throwing liquid at passing vehicles on the Veterans Expressway in the area of the Courtney Campbell Causeway in Tampa.

A black Hyundai Santa Fe struck the man, and a second, unidentified vehicle struck him again before police arrived.

Alexander Rowland, 27, was confirmed as the deceased.

The female driver, who was 60 years old, of the Hyundai was cooperative with the police.

Investigators want the identity of the second vehicle’s driver.

As the investigation is ongoing, no criminal charges have been filed yet.
