Taylorville, IL – Kincaid Woman Hit & Killed By Norfolk Southern Train at Sangamon Rd

Taylorville, IL (July 28, 2023) – A Kincaid woman was killed after she was hit by a train near Taylorville, as reported by local authorities on Tuesday morning.

According to Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Officers first responded to the accident at around 7:45 a.m. and discovered that a southbound Norfolk Southern train struck the woman around 1610 West Sangamon Road.

A toxicology report and autopsy are pending, and the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and Norfolk Southern authorities are still investigating in the meantime. Witnesses were asked to step forward if they had additional details to aid the police investigation.
