Knoxville, TN (May 31, 2020) – On Saturday, May 30th, officers from the Knoxville Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a railroad accident near the intersection of Mineral Springs Avenue and Old Broadway Street after receiving reports of a woman being hit and killed by a train.
According to officials at the crash site, the victim was discovered at about 12:5 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later.
The woman’s body was taken to the University of Tennessee Forensic Center for a full post-mortem examination.
The identity of the victim, while known to police, has not been released to the public.
