Thomasville, GA (September 2, 2020) – One man has lost his life in a fatal collision that occurred on US 84 yesterday evening in Thomasville.
The crash took place in the evening hours of September 1 on US 84 in the eastbound lanes near the intersection with Hallman Road. A 27-year-old man, who remains unidentified at this time, was fatally struck by a truck while riding his moped along the roadway.
Crash reports state that the truck that struck the man, a 2016 Chevrolet 1500, was traveling at about 25 miles over the speed limit when the accident took place.
The 27-year-old moped driver, who was stated to have resided in Boston, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision by medical professionals who responded to the call concerning the wreck.
The truck’s driver, only identified as a 37-year-old man, is currently facing multiple charges including speeding, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, following too closely, and distracted driving.
