Thoreau, NM (March 18, 2023) – Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a crash in Thoreau on the afternoon of March 17.
At approximately 2:22 p.m., on Friday, police and paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the accident on Interstate 40 in order to help those involved.
The crash happened on Interstate 40 near milepost 53 between an unspecified number of vehicles.
How the collision took place is still being investigated by local authorities at this time.
Traffic was delayed in the vicinity of the accident site for some time on Friday evening while emergency crews worked to help those with injuries and clear the wreckage from the roadway. Police urged local drivers to use different routes of travel while the scene was active with responders.
Police in Thoreau continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash. No further information has been reported at this time.
