Toledo, OH (November 20, 2023) – A police chase of a stolen car on Sunday night, November 19. It ended tragically at Douglas and Monroe, causing one fatality and injuring three others. The incident occurred at 7:34 p.m.
During the pursuit, the stolen car, driven by 36-year-old Tyrone Hoy of Waukegan, Illinois, ran a red light and collided with another vehicle. Subsequently, it struck another car near a gas station, where a 50-year-old woman was seriously injured while returning to her vehicle. The chase concluded when Hoy’s car hit the Monroe Pharmacy sign.
The deceased is an unidentified woman, a passenger in the pursued car. Hoy faces charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, reckless vehicular assault, and fleeing from police, stemming from an initial theft incident.
