Tonawanda, NY (November 14, 2022) – A van reportedly struck a pole, knocking down power lines and leaving three people injured in the city of Tonawanda. The crash was said to have occurred on Monday morning, November 14th.
According to law enforcement, a 2010 Dodge Caravan operated by Christopher Spina, 57, of Tonawanda, was driving on Main Street at around 11:20 a.m. when the van collided with two power poles. Spina and two passengers, ages 36 and 37, were all injured in the crash.
Emergency crews were called to the scene where they transferred all three patients to Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Their injuries have been reported as non-life-threatening.
Spina told authorities that his foot became wedged between the accelerator and brake while driving, leading to the crash. The force of the collision knocked down several power lines. No further details are available at this time.
