Tooele, UT (September 18, 2023) – A person tragically lost their life after being hit by a vehicle on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

The fatal incident took place on SR-112 at 2163 West during the evening hours.

The collision led to a complete shutdown of the single-lane highway in both directions.

Utah Highway Patrol directed motorists to use Erda Way as an alternative route.

Officials anticipated the road closure would extend into early Monday morning.

Details about the pedestrian’s identity remain undisclosed at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing.
