Both vehicles were traveling westbound on Highway 19 when they collided near 501st Ave. The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox, identified as Stephanie Lynn Fehring, 39, of Winthrop, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Ridgeview Hospital for treatment. The Equinox carried four juvenile passengers, none of whom reported injuries or required transportation to a medical facility. All passengers in the Equinox were confirmed to be wearing seat belts, though the driver was not.
The Chevrolet Malibu was driven by a 17-year-old male from Fairfax, MN, who was uninjured. Airbags deployed in the Malibu, but the Equinox’s airbags did not activate.
