Travis County, TX – Fatal Collision on Texas 71 Claims Two Lives

Travis County, TX ( July 19, 2023) – On Monday, July 17th, 2023, a fatal collision occurred in eastern Travis County.

It resulted in the loss of two lives, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
The collision occurred on Texas 71 near 5160 Texas 71 East, close to Garfield, when a semi-truck and a vehicle collided, both traveling west. EMS reported that the collision caused the driver and a vehicle passenger to become trapped inside.
First responders quickly extricated the trapped individuals from the vehicle and immediately started CPR.

Unfortunately, despite their efforts, both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck declined treatment, as confirmed by officials.
