Tulare County, CA (February 9, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision occurred Saturday evening on southbound SR-99 near the Philip S Raine Rest Area, prompting a response from California Highway Patrol (CHP) and local emergency crews.
The crash was reported around 7:02 PM, involving a white Mazda sedan and a pickup truck. Initial reports indicated that one of the vehicles overturned but landed back on its wheels. Both vehicles were eventually moved to the right-hand side of the roadway to allow traffic to resume, though all lanes were temporarily blocked during the response.
One female occupant from the Mazda sustained injuries and was located in the center divider. The extent of her injuries has not yet been disclosed. It is unclear whether the driver of the pickup truck, found in a ditch within the rest area, was injured. Emergency responders from Tulare County Fire arrived at the scene, and tow services were called for vehicle removal.
