Union Gap, WA (September 12, 2023) – A hit-and-run on Monday, September 11, 2023, left a pedestrian critically injured.
Around 7:45 p.m., Justin J. Weeks, 55, from Yakima, collected coins on East Valley Mall Boulevard.
A vehicle struck him, launching Weeks over the car onto the road.
Emergency responders rushed him to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital.
Weeks later, he was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
A witness pursued the fleeing driver onto I-82 and alerted police.
Authorities apprehended the suspect, a 29-year-old Yakima woman.
She faces charges of hit-and-run and driving without a license.
The investigation is still ongoing.
