Union Township, MI (August 4, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash in Isabella County Saturday morning claimed the life of one man and left another seriously injured. The collision occurred around 10:00 a.m. on E Pickard Rd near Airway Dr, just outside a hotel in Union Township.
According to the Michigan State Police, the crash happened when a 70-year-old man from Woodhaven pulled out from the Holiday Inn & Suites parking lot and attempted to turn onto E Pickard Rd in a Ford Edge. As he entered the roadway, his vehicle was struck by a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 50-year-old man from Rosebush.
The driver of the Ford suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead following the collision. The driver of the Silverado sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. No other occupants were reported in either vehicle.
Troopers remained on scene for an extended period as they investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials have not yet confirmed if speed, visibility, or right-of-way violations played a role, and the investigation remains ongoing.
