Upper Freehold, NJ (September 18, 2023) – A fatal head-on crash occurred on County Road 537 near milepost 34.4 on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
At 2:50 p.m., a Jeep Laredo, heading westbound, attempted to pass traffic.
It veered into the eastbound lane, colliding with an oncoming Buick Enclave.
The Buick’s driver, a 79-year-old woman from Manalapan, tragically died.
Meanwhile, the Jeep’s driver, John Shovelin III, 23, of Rumson, suffered severe injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing.
