Upper Marlboro, MD (October 24, 2024) – A tragic head-on collision occurred on Wednesday evening, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to another individual. At approximately 5:10 p.m. on October 23, the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) responded to reports of a crash in the 500 block of Largo Center Drive.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 57-year-old Monica Wilson from Springdale, MD, suffering from critical injuries. She was promptly transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Preliminary investigations indicated that Wilson was traveling northbound on Largo Center Drive when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction crossed over the centerline for reasons that remain unclear. This led to a head-on collision with Wilson's vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment. Witnesses reported that two passengers from the second vehicle fled the scene immediately following the crash.
