Utica, IL (September 18, 2023) – Two women sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on I-80 near Utica on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Both women believed to be in their 20s, were airlifted to Peoria.
They were eastbound when they used a crossover, leading to the crash.
Their SUV collided with a westbound semi, then deflected into a second semi.
Following the collision, the SUV and one semi ended up in a ditch.
The semi’s driver was transported to OSF Mendota for care.
A third semi remained on the shoulder. Its driver declined medical assistance.
The investigation is still ongoing.
