Van Buren County, MI – Distracted Driving Causes Collision on CR 668, Injuring One

Van Buren County, MI (November 20, 2023) – A two-vehicle crash on Sunday, November 19, in the 92000 block of County Road 668 (CR 668) in Van Buren County resulted in one injury. Around 6:12 p.m., a southbound black Hyundai Sonata collided with a northbound black Dodge Ram towing a utility trailer. The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office suggests the Sonata’s driver was distracted by an iPad, leading to the crash. This distraction caused him to veer off course and over-correct, ending up in the opposite lane.

The Sonata’s driver was hospitalized for evaluation, while the Dodge Ram’s occupants were unharmed. The Sheriff’s Office is seeking further information on the incident from the public.
