Van Buren, NY (May 01, 2021) – A driver going the wrong way down a street in Onondaga County collided with an ambulance on Wednesday, April 28th on Route 690 in Van Buren.  

Sources report that, at about 11:00 p.m., a car driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Route 690 struck a Menter Ambulance near Downer Street.

Several departments responded to the scene, including the New York State Police, Northern Onondaga Volunteer Ambulance, and the North West Fire District.

Among other injuries reported, firefighters had to remove the passenger’s side door from the wrong-way car in order to free a trapped passenger.
