Venice, NE (September 13, 2023) – A devastating crash on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, claimed one life and injured another.
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported the accident around 8:05 a.m. on West Center Road, west of 264th St. An eastbound gray Jeep swerved, colliding head-on with a westbound white Chevy Impala.
Post-impact, the Jeep rolled, hurling its driver out. Simultaneously, the Impala careened into a nearby ditch.
Tragically, the Impala’s driver, trapped inside, died at the scene. Rescuers airlifted the injured Jeep driver to a local hospital.
Officials have not disclosed the deceased’s identity, awaiting family notification.
The investigation is still ongoing.
