Verona, ND (September 07, 2020) – Three victims were hospitalized following an injury crash that took place in southeast North Dakota when a driver neglected to yield to an oncoming car on Monday, September 7th.
As stated in a press release issued by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Timothy Anvik, was heading southbound along North Dakota Highway 1 in a 2014 Ford F150 at around 3:40 p.m., 100 miles southwest of Fargo.
Anvik tried to make a lefthand turn onto North Dakota Highway 27 but failed to yield the right of way to an approaching 2017 Kia Sorrento, driven by 53-year-old Debra Russell, a resident of Kensal.
The two vehicles crashed head-first into one another. Russell, along with her front-seat passenger, 18-year-old Daven Russell, a resident of Jamestown, and backseat occupant Jeffery Erling, 65, also from Kensal, were all transported via ambulances to local medical facilities.
The victim’s injuries were all classified as non-life-threatening.
Anvik was unharmed during the accident. He was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
The LaMoure County Sheriff’s Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol, Verona Fire Department, Oakes Ambulance, and the Lamoure Fire Department all assisted with the accident.
