Verona, NY (November 12, 2022) – The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal accident that took place on Wednesday in the town of Verona. The accident was reported at around 5:30 p.m., on November 9.

According to reports, 73-year-old Frederick Rissman was driving a sedan in the area of Route 41 and Kelly Avenue when his vehicle collided with a pickup truck, which was driven by 65-year-old Gary Cronk.

Rissman suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was immediately pronounced deceased at the scene from his injuries.

Two passengers in Rissman’s vehicle, 55-year-old Jean Rissman and 26-year-old Daniel Perez, were both injured. Rissman was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for emergency treatment of serious injuries. Perez was transported to the St. Elizabeth campus of Mohawk Valley Health Systems for medical care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
