Victorville, CA (July 19, 2023) – On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, a tragic accident occurred on the National Trails Highway at Polish Lane, just north of Victorville.
Around 7:18 a.m., a semi-truck transporting a front-loader with a backhoe on a trailer collided with a railroad bridge.
Consequently, the backhoe fell off and landed on a Ford Crown Victoria sedan, colliding with a tree near an apartment complex.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner will identify the man who died in the car after notifying the family.
The Victorville Fire Department rescued a woman from the car, who suffered major injuries to her arm and back.
She was transported by ground and air ambulance to medical facilities.
The investigation is ongoing to determine any potential criminal charges.
