Virginia Beach, VA (May 24, 2023) – The Virginia Beach Police Department confirmed that 68-year-old Francis Saunders lost his life as a result of a motorcycle accident that took place during the evening hours on Monday, May 22.
At around 6:30 p.m., the Virginia Beach Police Department responded to the scene of a crashed on First Colonial Road.
Reports from authorities indicate that an SUV was exiting a parking lot in front of the Virginia Beach General Hospital on First Colonial Road when it collided with a motorcycle. The motorcycle was traveling northbound at the time of the crash.
The motorcyclist, identified as Saunders, was severely hurt in the crash. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The traffic safety unit is currently investigating the accident to determine the cause.
