Chesapeake, VA – Ashley Ryan Burroughs Killed in Fatal Crash on I-664

Chesapeake, VA (December 8, 2020) – A man was killed when a vehicle hit his truck on Interstate 664 at Exit 13 on Sunday, December 6. 

Ashley Ryan Burroughs, 30, of New Bern, North Carolina, lost his life when his truck was flipped on top of him during a collision on Interstate 664. Burroughs had stopped to check on the driver of another vehicle that had been involved in an accident. 

Burroughs stopped and exited his truck in order to render aid when a second vehicle struck his truck. The truck then flipped over on top of Burroughs. Burroughs was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he lost his life the next day. 

The driver who rear-ended the truck was identified as Oscar Ingram Jr., and his passenger was identified as Lisa Murphy. They were also transported to nearby medical centers and are expected to make full recoveries. 

No further information has been released at this time.
