Culpeper County, VA – Kenneth M. Stewardson Killed in Crash on Rt 29

Culpeper County, VA (August 2, 2020) – Virginia State Police responded to a call concerning a fatal car accident that occurred on a roadway in Culpeper County this past Sunday morning. 

The accident occurred at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 30 on Route 29 between a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse and a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. According to the police report, the wreck occurred on Route 29 along the exit ramp for Madison Road. 

Kenneth M. Stewardson, aged 58, stopped his Chevy Traverse in the merging lane on the exit ramp and exited his vehicle in order to fix the trailer he was hauling. The Dodge Caravan came up behind him and was unable to stop. Stewardson was fatally struck by the Caravan and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision by emergency medical technicians.

Four passengers present in the Caravan at the time of the collision, an adult driver, and three children, were unharmed in the crash. They have not been identified at this time.

No further information has been made available to the public at this time. 

Virginia State Police are currently investigating the details of the wreck.
