Tazewell County, VA – Kevin R. Skinner Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Tazewell County, VA (August 3, 2020) – One man is dead after being involved in a fatal motorcycle crash on Route 16 in Tazewell. 

The accident occurred on Saturday, August 1, at approximately 4:32 p.m. just north of Route 830 on Route 16, also known as Stoney Ridge Road. 

According to Virginia State Police, a motorcyclist identified as Kevin R. Skinner, 48, of Greeneville, North Carolina, lost his life in the accident. Skinner was traveling on Route 16 on his 2014 Harley-Davidson FLHX when for unknown reasons his bike collided with a Chevrolet Silverado pickup. 

The motorcyclist was taken to Tazewell Community Hospital with life-threatening injuries and later passed away. 

It was reported by Virginia State Police that Skinner was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. 

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured and has not been identified at this time. 

The crash remains under local authority investigation at the present time.
