Volusia County, FL – Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Claims Pedestrian’s Life

Volusia County, FL (July 10, 2023) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is looking for the motorist who fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run collision in which a pedestrian was killed in Volusia County.

At 4:13 a.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023, an incident occurred on State Road 472 close to Durfey Avenue.

An unnamed car in the inside eastbound lane of SR-472 struck a pedestrian, according to police.

The individual was not at a crosswalk and seemed to be kneeling or lying down on the road.

Crime scene investigators are now attempting to identify the victim positively.

FHP has identified no information about the driver and vehicle involved. Investigations are still ongoing.
