Warrensburg, NY – RuthAnn Angle and Dana Kaplan-Angle Killed by Logging Truck on Main St at Horicon Ave

Warrensburg, NY (April 24, 2021) – Two people were killed when they were struck by an 18-wheeled logging truck on Main Street between Stewart Farrar Avenue and Horicon Avenue at about 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23rd in Warrensburg.

Reports show that the driver of the 2006 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was making a lefthand turn off of Richards Avenue onto Main Street when it collided with three pedestrians who were in the intersection. At least one of the pedestrians became stuck underneath the truck’s trailer.

Police stated that three pedestrians were struck during the accident: 75-year-old RuthAnn Angle, a resident of North Manchester, IN, 33-year-old Dana Kaplan-Angle, a resident of Brooklyn, and 33-year-old Robert Dowling, also from Brooklyn.

Angle and her niece, Kaplan-Angle were pronounced dead on the scene.

Dowling was transported to the Glens Falls Hospital with injuries that were believed to be non-critical.

Police said driver impairment and speed do not appear to be factors in this accident.

Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Warrensburg

4.24 Warrensburg, NY - RuthAnn Angle and Dana Kaplan-Angle Killed by Logging Truck on Main St at Horicon Ave

To be able to file a wrongful death claim in New York, you have to be a statutory beneficiary of the deceased. In other words, only immediate members of the family such as spouses, parents, and children are entitled to financial compensation. A knowledgeable attorney will work on the family’s behalf to provide testimony and evidence that prove the negligent party’s liability and that the death was a direct result of the accident they caused.

Although no amount of legal action can fix such a terrible loss, it is possible to receive substantial financial compensation that will help ease the difficulties that come with the death of someone you love.

After losing a loved one in a careless, reckless, or otherwise negligent New York pedestrian accident by no fault of the victim, it may feel like no amount of compensation could make you feel complete again. While it is true that no financial restitution can ever fully make up for your losses, filing a wrongful death claim against the responsible party or parties can go a long way toward helping you find some semblance of peace again.
