Washington, MO (November 21, 2023) – A devastating two-vehicle collision on Monday, November 20, resulted in one fatality and an injury. The accident occurred on Hwy 21, south of Cambell Rd. According to authorities, 18-year-old Peyton A. Kail from Potosi, MO, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 northbound when she failed to navigate a curve and collided with a southbound 2000 Kenworth T800, driven by 63-year-old Kevin W. Golden from Caledonia, MO.
Kail tragically died at the scene, pronounced deceased by the Washington County Coroner at 11:17 AM. Golden sustained injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. Both drivers were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash. The Major Crash Investigative Unit, led by CPL K D Roney and assisted by SGT. M.B. Lomedico and SGT. D.A. Yingling, is conducting an ongoing investigation into this tragic incident.
