Waterloo, NE (September 13, 2023) – A severe head-on crash occurred east of Yutan on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, claiming one life and seriously injuring another driver.
Authorities arrived at the scene, west of 264th Street and West Center Road, at 8:04 a.m. They found one driver trapped and deceased inside their vehicle.
The identity remains undisclosed, awaiting next-of-kin notification.
The second driver, ejected from a rolling Jeep, was flown to Nebraska Medical Center for treatment.
Initial findings by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office suggest the Jeep, heading east, veered across the center line, colliding with a westbound white Chevy Impala.
The Impala ended up in a northern ditch following the impact.
The investigation is still ongoing.
