Webb, NY – Four Injured in Boating Accident on Fourth Lake

Webb, NY (September 13, 2020) – On Saturday night, September 12, two boats were involved in a serious boating accident on Fourth Lake in Webb.

A firefighter confirmed that the accident took place where the Fourth Lake goes into the Third Lake. One man, identified as 42-year-old Scott Del Medico was operating a pontoon boat along with his 6-year-old son as well as a friend, his 6-year-old son, and his elderly father.

22-year-old Carter Lawrence was operating a ski boat and struck the pontoon. Lawrence was allegedly operating the ski boat while intoxicated. He was charged with operating a vessel while intoxicated and vehicular assault. He was not injured in the accident.

Del Medico was not injured but his 6-year-old son, his friend’s 6-year-old son, and the elderly man were all seriously injured and airlifted to University Hospital. All three are currently in critical condition. One other person was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
