Weld County, CO (December 13, 2024) – A tragic collision southeast of Longmont in unincorporated Weld County resulted in one fatality and another person hospitalized Thursday morning. The crash occurred around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Weld County Road 20.5 and Weld County Road 7.
According to Mountain View Fire Rescue, the crash involved a pickup truck and a small hatchback, both of which sustained heavy damage. Emergency crews used extrication tools to free the drivers trapped in their vehicles. Both individuals were transported to nearby hospitals, where one of the drivers was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause of the incident. The identities of the drivers have not been released.
