The Dangers of Wrong-Way Driving on Divided Highways
Wrong-way crashes, such as the one reported on the RT 30 Bypass, are among the most hazardous incidents on high-speed roadways. These collisions typically occur at night or early morning when visibility is low and driver alertness may be impaired. The force of impact in head-on crashes often results in severe injuries, as seen in this West Whiteland incident.
In Pennsylvania, transportation officials have invested in signage and roadway design intended to prevent wrong-way entries. Despite these efforts, wrong-way crashes still happen, often due to impairment, distraction, or driver confusion.
Victims of such collisions often require extensive medical care and long recovery periods. In the aftermath, it’s crucial to seek both medical and legal support. Legal professionals can assist injured parties in understanding their rights and pursuing any compensation for medical expenses, loss of income, or long-term rehabilitation.
