Whittier, CA (January 12, 2025) – A hit-and-run collision involving injuries occurred early Saturday morning on Whittier Blvd near Lockheed Ave. Emergency responders, including law enforcement and air support, were dispatched to locate the fleeing suspects and provide assistance to the injured.

The incident was reported at approximately 2:55 AM and involved a silver Dodge Challenger and a silver Acura MDX SUV. The Dodge Challenger was reported as immobile, blocking the eastbound lanes of Whittier Blvd, while parties from the Acura MDX fled the scene on foot toward the northbound I-605 on-ramp. Witnesses described two males and one female leaving the scene.

Air51, along with ground units, assisted in the search for the suspects, including efforts to locate individuals hiding in bushes near the Whittier on-ramp. Tow services, including Balcaceres Brothers Towing, were dispatched to remove the vehicles from the scene, with an estimated arrival time of 20 minutes.

The collision resulted in injuries, though specific details about the number of injured parties and the severity of their injuries remain unconfirmed. CHP is actively investigating the incident and working to identify and apprehend the individuals who fled the scene.

Our thoughts are with those injured in this incident, and we hope for their full recovery. Hit-and-run collisions pose significant risks to public safety, and drivers are reminded of their legal responsibility to remain at the scene of any crash.
