Williams, CA – Fatal Head-On Crash on State Route 20, 1 Killed

Williams, CA (July 22, 2023) – A head-on collision in Colusa County near Williams killed a 24-year-old Seattle man on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

Richard Broussard, 54, from Westminster, Colorado, was driving a Honda van eastbound on State Route 20 with four passengers, including a 4-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy.

Broussard entered the westbound lane to overtake a vehicle at 4:37 p.m., colliding head-on with the Seattle man’s 2012 BMW.

Two passengers were taken to Adventist Health/Rideout Hospital for minor injuries, while Broussard and the BMW driver died.

The investigation into the crash continues, including potential factors such as alcohol or drugs.
