Wilson, NY (January 19, 2023) – Reports show that a 35-year-old man and a 5-year-old child were both hospitalized due to injuries they suffered in a house fire on Thursday morning, January 19th. The incident happened shortly after midnight in the town of Wilson.
Authorities say that a fire broke out inside a house on Harbor Street, resulting in multiple crews at the scene. Firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames and immediately went to work extinguishing the blaze.
Three residents of the home were able to make it out, but two of them suffered various injuries. The adult male was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he was admitted to the burn center and listed in serious condition.
The injured child was first transported to Oishei Children’s Hospital and then to Strong Memorial Hospital due to burn injuries. The child is in critical condition at this time.
The events that caused the fire are under investigation.
