Winter Garden, FL – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on State Road 429

Winter Garden, FL (July 17, 2023)- The Florida Highway Patrol is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man that occurred on State Road 429 in Winter Garden shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2022 Honda Accord collided with a pedestrian crossing the road from the east shoulder near Mile Marker 24, north of Plant Street.

A male adult pedestrian was pronounced dead at the accident scene, and a female driver was taken to Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

FHP has named neither of the suspects.

Once the deceased has been positively identified, the medical examiner’s office will submit an update to FHP.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
