Winter Haven, FL – DUI Driver Collides with Woman’s Vehicle on State Route 400 Leaving her Dead

Winter Haven, FL (July 25, 2023)- At 4:10 a.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2023, a drunk driver from Lakeland, Quarpaesha Raquel Prather, 31, crashed into the vehicle of a 36-year-old woman traveling on State Route 400 near Galloway Road.

The woman from Winter Haven was pronounced dead at the scene. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound, and Prather rear-ended the victim’s vehicle.

The impact caused the victim’s car to flip over, which led to fatal injuries to the vehicle’s occupants.

The victim was thrown out of her vehicle when it was struck.

Prather was taken into custody by the Polk County Jail after being arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol.
