Woodstock, VA (November 26, 2020) – A 6-year-old from Tennessee was killed in a car accident in Woodstock on Wednesday, November 25th.
Police reports state that the accident took place at about 11:05 a.m. on Interstate 81.
According to police, a 31-year-old woman was driving a 2013 Kia Sorento southbound along Interstate 81 when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, it ran off the road and rolled over multiple times.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Winchester Medical Center in critical condition.
One of the vehicle’s passengers, a 6-year-old boy from Kingsport, Tennessee, was not buckled up and, as a result, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle’s second passenger, a 50-year-old woman also from Kingsport, was airlifted to Fairfax Hospital. She was pronounced dead a short while later.
The third and fourth passengers in the Kia, a 31-year-old female, and a 41-year-old male, sustained serious injuries during the accident. Both were transported to Winchester Medical Center for emergency medical care.
The identities of everyone involved are being withheld until next of kin has been notified.
The investigation into this accident is still ongoing.
