Wytheville, VA (September 19, 2023) – A vehicle accident occurred on I-81N near mile marker 71.5 in Wytheville on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
The Virginia Department of Transportation reported significant delays.
The crash initially closed the north left shoulder, left lane, and right shoulder to allow emergency crews to work on site.
Traffic was backed up for about 0.5 miles. All lanes have since reopened.
The investigation is still ongoing.
