Yaphank, NY (April 25, 2021) – Police were called to the scene of a car accident that caused the death of a woman standing outside a disabled vehicle on the Long Island Expressway on Saturday, April 24th.
The accident took place just west of exit 66 in Yaphank, at about 3:00 a.m.
Reports from the Suffolk County police show that 20-year-old Danyel Anderson, a resident of Mastic, was driving a 2015 Chrysler 300 eastbound on the Long Island Expressway when she struck a woman who was standing outside of a disabled 2012 Nissan Altima in the right lane.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anderson and her passenger, 19-year-old Ja-Rule Dillard, a resident of Shirley, were unharmed during the incident.
