Yonkers, NY (February 28, 2021) – Two teenagers were killed during a single-vehicle rollover accident in Yonkers on Thursday, February 25th.
Officials from the Westchester County Police Department stated that, at about 12:45 a.m., a vehicle left the roadway and overturned in the southbound lanes of Saw Mill River Parkway in the area of Rumsey Road.
One passenger, 17-year-old Ali Alghaithi, a resident of Harlem, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene at about 1:00 a.m.
The other three teenagers had to be extricated from the car and were transported by ambulance to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx where another passenger, 17-year-old Abdlwahab Abushaar, a resident of the Bronx, died.
The 18-year-old driver and a 15-year-old boy who was also riding in the car have been hospitalized.
The cause of this accident is under investigation.
