York County, VA (January 8, 2023) – A traffic accident was reported on Friday morning in York County that claimed one person’s life. At around 7:25 a.m., on January 6, the Virginia State police responded to a crash that occurred on Route 17.

According to law enforcement, the vehicle was attempting to exit the McDonald’s parking lot onto the southbound side of Route 17 when it was struck by a pickup truck just north of Fort Eustis Boulevard.

The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to cross over the southbound lanes into the northbound lane and crashed into a third vehicle.

An 84-year-old man involved in the accident, identified as William Adams, was severely injured. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was also transported to an area hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
