Yuba City, CA (September 13, 2023) – A fatal collision occurred on the northbound on-ramp of Garden Highway to Highway 99 on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at about 7:02 a.m.

Arturo M. Bolanos Hernandez, 61, drove a 2017 Ford Fusion and lost control on a sharp curve.

Simon Lopezlobato, 42, hit Hernandez’s car with his Ram 1500 pickup.

Hernandez died at the crash site despite medics’ efforts.

Lopezlobato and passenger Joga Gill, 42, sustained injuries and were taken to Adventist Health/Rideout Hospital.

A 12-year-old boy in the Ram remained unharmed.

Drunk driving is suspected in the crash.

The investigation is still ongoing.
