Hampton, VA (January 4, 2026) – A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night following a collision involving another vehicle at the intersection of E Mercury Blvd and E Pembroke Ave in Hampton. The crash occurred at approximately 9:21 p.m., prompting an emergency response from Hampton Police and Fire and Rescue personnel.
Upon arrival, officers found the motorcyclist unresponsive near the site of the crash. Despite life-saving efforts, Hampton Fire and Rescue pronounced the rider deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been publicly released, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle involved were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle was found stopped near the point of impact, and both occupants were said to be cooperating with the investigation.
According to preliminary findings, the motorcyclist had been traveling southbound on E Mercury Blvd when the motorcycle collided with a vehicle that was heading eastbound on E Pembroke Ave. The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Hampton Police Division’s Accident Reconstruction Team, which spent several hours examining the scene and collecting evidence.
The intersection remained closed into the late evening while officials worked to document the crash and clear the roadway.
